Muhlenberg College’s academic theatre and dance programs are ranked nationally and for many students, including those majoring in areas such as biology, business, and psychology, the opportunity to study the arts is an important component of the liberal arts experience. This creative repurposing of a vacated fraternity building provides a much-needed teaching space for acting and directing during the day and rehearsal space for musicians and actors at night.

Out buildings are one of our greatest assets and the Spillman team understands how important it is that the buildings fit into our environment, yet provide the modern amenities our students and faculty demand. Today, one of our frequent guests to the campus remarked that the new building we are in the process of erecting – an addition to a 100-year-old building – looked like it has always been there. Spillman Farmer Architects is creative, sensitive to how building materials impact the building, historically accurate, has an excellent ability to draw out the users’ needs and is truly a national-caliper firm.
